The basics
How does it work?
Eat, drink, bowl, sing, throw some darts. Do it in any order you like, or all at once!
You don't need to bowl to eat or drink with us, and you don't need to eat to bowl. As long as you're having a good time, you're doing it right.
When are you open?
We open at 12pm every day except Monday, when we're closed.
- Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 12pm to 9pm
- Thursday: 12pm to 11pm
- Friday & Saturday: 12pm to midnight
What food do you serve?
We're famous for our sharing food, but there's plenty more: ribs, salads, burgers and our own house nachos, all made from scratch. Coming as a bigger group? Our sharing, buffet and canapé menus are made for it.

How much does it cost?
Prices vary depending on the day and time you visit. The easiest way to see exactly what you'll pay is on our booking site, where every price is shown before you book.
How do I book?
The quickest way is to book online: you'll see live availability and get your confirmation straight away.
You can also call us on 01603 397412 or email bookings@bowlinghouse.co.uk, and we'll usually get back to you within 24–48 hours.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
It depends on what you've booked:
- Lanes and booths: we need at least 48 hours' notice of any changes.
- Package deposits: we need more than 31 days' notice of cancellation.
- Room and venue hire: we need at least 3 months' notice.

Bowling
Do we have to wear bowling shoes?
Nope, it's your choice. If you can't imagine bowling without the proper footwear, bowling shoes are available for free.
Do you have bumpers and ramps?
Yes. We have a limited number of bumpers, plus ramps and lighter balls for anyone who needs them.
Let us know before you arrive and we'll have them ready for you.
Kids, access & dogs
Are kids allowed?
Yes! Under 18s are welcome until 8pm.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Our bar, restaurant, garden and bowling lanes all have full wheelchair access. Our karaoke booths and The Lanes Comedy Club don't yet; it's something we're working on and hope to improve in future.
If you have any questions about access, please get in touch and we'll help you plan your visit.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome in our garden. Inside the building, only service dogs are allowed, and they must stay with their owner and on a lead at all times.

Terms & conditions
Lane & booth hire cancellation policy
With less than 48 hours' notice of any changes, no refunds or transfers will be issued.
Package deposit cancellation policy
With more than 31 days' notice of cancellation, your deposit or hire fee can be fully refunded or transferred to another date. With less than 31 days' notice, no refunds or transfers will be issued under any circumstances.
Room & venue hire cancellation policy
No refunds or transfers will be issued with less than 3 months' notice of cancellation.
Enforced closure & social distancing
If the venue is forced to close because of government restrictions, you'll be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your deposit.
If the government introduces social distancing measures, such as maximum group sizes of 6 or more or compulsory face masks, Bowling House will in most cases still be able to accommodate your booking, and any cancellations will be treated as per the terms above. However, hire fees for the upstairs bar will be refunded if groups of 20 or more are no longer permitted.
